We are a haven for our artists and we build a home for their books every day.

The beauty of the people we collaborate with is what inspires us. First and foremost we care for the human stories behind the façade of our operations, which motivate us to create something together with you. The myriad of art practices challenges us to make each book publication a unique one. From painting to photography, from dance or theatre and opera to architecture and sculpture, from drawing to fashion and textiles. We love to take care of the artist and build an extra stage and space for him or her within the book.

Art book makers and publishers HOPPER&FUCHS are based in Antwerp, Belgium.

HOPPER&FUCHS started in December 2019 with the publication For my Mother by Ren Hang, putting them on the art book publishing map. Since then, HOPPER&FUCHS has been creating a dynamic and high-quality portfolio of art books and photobooks. All books are printed locally in Belgium, ensuring our craft stays within our control. Publisher Bruno Devos has worked in publishing and printing for over thirty years, utilizing his expertise and knowledge to guide artists in creating one of the most profound objects in the world: an art book. After the art books are carefully curated and produced, they go on the road with book presentations, talks, and art book/photobook fairs across the globe.

HOPPER&FUCHS has launched books and given talks at The Kandinsky Library, Centre Pompidou, Paris, M HKA, Mu.ZEE, FOMU, SMAK Ghent, WIELS, Kanal Brussels, WEST Den Haag, The Photographer’s Gallery, London, Photobook Cafe, London, Kunsthal Ghent, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Highlighted book fairs include Tokyo Art Book Fair, Singapore Art Book Fair, Arles Book Fair, Miss Read Berlin, WIELS Art Book Fair, P.A.G.E.S, Leipzig Photobook Festival, and Unseen Book Market, Amsterdam. Besides the epic catalog, HOPPER&FUCHS is also responsible for the distribution of the back catalog for Stockmans Art Books. All books belonging to this back catalog were printed and published by Bruno Devos between 2017 and 2024.

Distribution for France is by Saveca Art & Paper, and worldwide distribution is by ACC Art Books.

To play the role of printer-publisher is well established in the HOPPER&FUCHS DNA, as we continue to build on the vision and 16th-century artisan legacy of Christophe Plantin. What defines us is a sincere love of paper, typography and other serious matters in constructing the book. Bruno Devos’ habitat is nested in high-tech print technology with the smell of dripping ink in workshops in Belgium, surrounded by the humming sound of printing machinery, boiling with activity. Bruno Devos stands for craftsmanship with a soul, with his history going back to 1875 with Stockmans Art Books. Bruno Devos’s signature is ‘curating art books’ and this condenses our culture and philosophy in making books and experiencing the process. Lately, we have been focusing on the deepening of our relationship with artists, bookshops, institutions, and galleries. We are proud to present to you some of our latest editions.
